Water is the most perfect traveller because when it travels it becomes the path itself.

Today’s Friday Photo features the mid and lower tiers of Fish Canyon Falls. This trail resides just above Duarte, California. I took this photo on May 18, 2016, which was about one month before the trail was destroyed in the Fish Fire on June 20th. It is currently closed to the public, however efforts are being made by the US Forestry Service to restore the trail, and the reopening date is tentatively September 8, 2017. A rather odd time for reopening a trail that leads to a grand waterfall such as this. The best time to hike this trail is in late fall thru spring. This is when the falls are putting on their best water show. In September we’ll be lucky to see a trickle of water. Still it will be great to set foot in this beautiful area once again.
